My HIPS does the same as well. No idea why though?

Nod32 is the way to go as far as viruses are concerned. Norton is pretty much the bottom of the pile.

Kaspersky is supposed to be fairly good, though. Odd that it'd recognize the exe as a keylogger...

I can see you have registered your copy so piracy is at least not the reason your exe ticks off your antivirus. Are you using a cracked .exe instead of the cd, in that case that could be why - some cracks are recognized as keyloggers as far as I know, usually though they pose no danger.

No, I've got the same thing with Kaspersky, if I minimise the game and do something in Windows, I get a warning saying detected behaviour like a keylogger or some such.

I bought the original EU3 from a shop, and all the expansions from GG.

You don't need the CD in to play, it's the same with any Paradox game.

Anyway, all a keylogger is is a program that reads your keyboard input (and then presumably sends all your password off to haxors), which is exactly what a game needs to do to accept your input. Your AV is being overly sensitive and saying "Ahh, a program that checks your keyboard input? keylogger!!!!!", you should be able to report it as a false positive.
