Why is beta application already closed?

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
I mean an open beta just before release doesn't really allow for core design concepts to change like for instance the way mana eventually did.
And it's not really an open beta, I'd place what I'm suggesting more in early access territory.
Maybe this is a translation thing but Fair warning, is an announcement a few days before you do something. As in 'Hey we're going to have a beta and will be taking applications Next week on...(Insert date) from (insert time) so keep your eyes peeled for our announcement then.'
I'm just not sure what this would have changed, aside from you having gotten your application in instead of some other person.
I'm not saying it's a bad thing, I'm saying there was no reason to do it. They expected to have the apps open for a week. You just wish they'd done an earlier announcement because you specifically didn't get in.No, apparently fair warning a bad thing because *Reasons* it seems
I'd have hoped that we, folk who play CK2, would be used to RNG messing us up. I just see this as a random event that doesn't go according to plan.
Even if they gave a warning beforehand it wouldn't change much. It may have just crashed the website due to way too much traffic at once really, because tons of folk would be waiting to hop on it all at once. I know my circle of friends and I would. And it'd just be shut down faster or let less people in because of more server downtime/them being on the look out for tons of people jumping in at once.
It's a lose lose situation.

Your obsession with me is flattering but this isn't just about me (contrary as to what you purport) versus giving everyone a fair shot. A number of other people here have expressed their disappointment with both the suddenness of the announcement and the rapidity in which it was closed. Put away your Defense Force Badge.
Then explain how it would have gone any differently had it been announced earlier, aside from a different set of people being disappointed.
Remember, thr majority of those people that managed to apply for the beta aren't going to get chosen to take part. I should imagine there are thousands of applicants and 50 or less places in the current round. While I agree it would have nice to have received some forewarning about the beta, PDX aren't obliged to do so. They had likely expected far fewer applicants than they received and to receive more would make the selection process slower.
I expect they will open another round for the beta at at later point in time. It is easier to keep track of their announcements if you are subscribed to their Twitter or in their discord server. I know most people can't be on the forums all the time.
Unfortunately because of the hype caused by CKIII I should expect any beta applications like this will pretty much be you blink and you miss.

Why? That's not an argument against a request for a simple courtesy.
All I asked for was a polite heads up on the forum maybe a week before, if and when the Development Team decide to introduce another tranche of beta testers. Because that way those of us who would like to perhaps put our hat in the ring but don't have the luxury of being able to camp the forums 24/7 would know to keep an eye out on X Date. Why that is somehow a 'Disagreeable' request is yet to be explained tbh.
