Why is beta application already closed?

Looks like they severely underestimated the number of applicants. They will likely only pick 50–100, and probably received +10,000.
Suddenly I don't feel as optimistic as I did when I first signed up for it lol
Same here, i was rather hopeful, but for the sign-up to not even last 2 days before it was closed... shows how swamped they must have been in the opening day with applications.
still, fingers crossed regardless.
On the bright side, we've all got a better chance than we would have if they'd left it open regardless of how many applications they were getting!

on a side note, i was gonna ask this in the proper beta thread, but it got closed before i could. does anyone know how long PDX closed beta's usually last?.
Agreed. I'd have really liked to have gotten in on the Beta to give UI feedback, but that was pretty much a blink and miss it kind of thing. Monday of all things, it's like the worst day as it's the start of the workweek. Should have been a Weekend announcement.
Evidently not, since this application period they expected to last a week lasted like thirty-six hours.
Thr UI is the only thing I don't like too, fortunately they at least confirmed it is fully moddable, even more than CK2, so we'll probably see a UI mod in a few weeks, if not less, after game launches if it stays the same.
I thought Swedish now have just shorter day, not the whole week.
I wonder how long their "few months" will last if a week is only 36 hours?

NP, no big deal CK3 team, i do guess you would probably end up being overwhelmed with so many applications...

Let's hope a new beta campaign will be forecast in 2020...
I feel this is exactly the kind of game that would benefit from a reasonable open beta period for pre purchasers to take part in. Imperator could have been saved a lot of negativity if players had a chance to rattle through the game when they could still say WiP.
If they do have an open beta, I imagine it'd be closer to the release date (which is likely roughly a year away).
