I have been allies with France since 1444 when they helped me get independence. I have fed them, improved relations, gotten royal marriages, and gotten more favors than I knew what to do with, which I would use to increase their trust except for 10 I'd hold back if I saw a golden opportunity that would require their help. All was going well, until they colonized Venezuela where I already had a CN, and flagged all its provinces as vital interest. With a whopping -200 opinion modifier from that, they're about to break their alliance with me, 100 trust and max improved relations be damned.
This is so stupid. Why do your allies flag your subjects provinces as vital interest? Why does that give such a stupidly huge negative modifier that it can override everything else and lose you an ally you've had for 100+ years by itself? That modifier needs to have a cap in the same way that Enemy of my Enemy does.
