Why end node missions rewards are given as normal claims and not permanent claims?

From the very beginning of the mission tree, end node reward claims; claims to the area that is not required by other missions were normal claims instead of permanent claims.

But why? Since it's on the end of the tree it's harder to get and I don't remember devs explaining it. I know it's just a little benefit and I can always ignore it, but I always feel chased by these normal claims since I'm kinda obsessed with maximizing profit.

Those endnode claims are for more aspirational claims than something you'd consider a core realm of the state. For example if the Roman Empire had a mission tree, you could justify Permaclaims on England, but for the likes of Ireland temporary claims may be more appropriate.

Well, the beginning was like that like Ottoman's claim to the Austria proper area, but nowadays mission trees embrace alt-history routes too. So kinda confused about it. In the case of Kongo, they even gain permanent claim to every European hold province.

It's present in the early mission trees as something like stretch goals or secondary objectives (in the case of the Mughal claims shown), but in the later mission trees, power creep has set in and they're much less common. This is why I'm so stoked for the inevitable revision of the Persian tree, which has so much power creep behind it that it will no doubt grant cores on the entire Levant and permaclaims all the way to Spain!

Mechanically, earlier missions give permanent claims as those provinces are typically required for the following mission(s), thus claims which expire could "soft lock" a player or AI from completing the next mission. As "capstone" missions don't have a follow-up, this isn't an issue.
This distinction can also be seen in a few missions (such as the Mughals Secure the Hajj Ports) which grant both permanent and regular claims in the same reward. Permanent for provinces required for a following mission and regular for "extra" provinces.

I wish that there were prerequisites to perma claims. It seems kinda odd that since I took your land, I have claims on more of it. Maybe via development, insult humiliate or something along those lines.

All claims needed to complete future missions are now permanent claims. Normal claims are also sometimes given as a bonus on things however.

That was what I mean by an end node.

This is indeed a bonus, but to me, it felt like I was forced to strive and claim this bonus within a small time window even though I do not have to. Yeah, I know it's my psychology that's the problem.
