It doesn't matter which nation who controls the provinces, the trigger fires when they are NOT controled by the SU. So Turkey doesn't even have to be in your alliance :)

I see, thanks :)

I think that the Bitter Peace should have a condition to it that the SU can not offer it if they do not control Bratsk which is next to Irkutsk. Or substitute some other province far along the Siberian Railroad path.

I just had that happen to me. I got to Bratsk and was preparing to attack Irkutsk. Only VP the SU had was Irkustk and Vlad. They offered the Bitter Peace only then. Before I would have taken it, but now it's a ridiculous offer. I'm about ten provinces east of the BP border. The SU should have to decide well before then whether it will or will not offer the BP.

I took the 15% dissent hit rather than give up everything I had gained. After taking Irkutsk and annexing Mongolia, I ran my Pz thru allied territory (Japan was Axis) and got to Vlad quickly and annexed the SU.

But a 15% penalty when the SU is almost done is too hard to swallow. The SU should have to make the BP offer well before the Axis gets close to Irkutsk. Some other triggers are needed to make this fair.

See your problem and 15 % dissent hit is tough. Finally I had the event and I was more than happy to accept since the allies had begun swarming around in Europe. Wonder if Stalin is going to keep still after this or if he will try something. There is some ominous gathering of troops close to Moscow and Stalingrad…

I believe that the 'Bitter Peace' conditions are insane. The original ones were to easy, but the heavy handed change was worse than the original problem. The possibility of the Soviets surviving the lose of all of Russia west of the Urals, the southern oil, and significant portions of the Trans Siberian path is beyond belief. I know they did it to 'balance' the game, but, IMO, they screwed the valid simulation aspect big time. Use F12 event ???? and get on with your game.

Well I am into 1945 and Stalin is still scared after our encounter. I was planning on a new war but the Americans are too threatening in Europe. They even dropped a nuclear bomb on Moscow! Don’t know if Stalin appreciated that if he has some aspirations of recovering his city. However it is amazing that the Russian army still can be the third largest in the world despite loosing most of their valuable provinces, kind of weird.
