Why does my Qing have Celestial Empire gov?

So I did the Ming->Shan->Yuan->Qing route hoping my government becomes "Despotic Monarchy" upon forming Qing, but apparently that's not the case? Is the info in Qing wiki outdated or wtf?

You can only lose the Celestial Empire government under extremely specific circumstances
Nothing extremely specific about it. Lose it in a war. That's all there is to say about the matter.

Now tricking an AI into thinking that you giving it to them is a GOOD thing? That's another matter.

Well, I should've clarified that most methods to change your government type are blocked. You can of course give it up this way, but you'll have to suffer through Mandate of Heaven lost and you lose the EoC together with it.

You can currently get rid of it via the Independent Daimyo trick or the Polish Magnate trick, if the last one still works.

How exactly do you loose government in a war?
Either 100% your victim and then give them the thing (instead of taking from them, you go as if you're the loser of the war and give them the mandate) or you just genuinely lose a war and give it as part of your enemy's war demands.

The problem is getting the AI to attack you using the war for the mandate CB. I don't have any advice on how to get that one to fire...

"Upon losing the Mandate, a nation receives the following effects:

  • Government turns into a kingdom-rank Despotic Monarchy" So by this I understand that you LOOSE Celestial Empire... However it also says "It is impossible to switch out of the Celestial Empire government while being the EoC"
Very confused.

That is not completely true. iirc if you from another country that will change your government, you'll loose the celestial empire government while still being EoC

iirc if you from another country that will change your government, you'll loose the celestial empire government while still being EoC
Thats why country formations with government change are excluded if you are EoC.
The polish magnate rebels have been fixed, the revolution desaster thing seems to still work but is not applicable if you already are EoC.

Even with those methods you kept being EoC, thus having Mandate, but changed government so you can have things like Legitimacy for Absolutism.
The only way to straight up loose EoC is having someone declare war on you with the CB. If you are Ming thats going to be hard.
It starts with deleting your army.

  • +50% Shock damage received
  • −100% Available mercenaries

You lose EoC together with the Celestial Empire government. Unless you use an exploit, it's impossible to be EoC and a Despotic Monarchy, for example.


And formations aren't blocked, they just won't change your government type.
