Why does my Catholic Andalusian empress wear a head scarf?

I started Kingdom of Navarra, I proceeded to culture shift to Andalusian because I thought that'd be funny (not as funny as my Bedouin Kingdom of Ireland but I was dumb and decided to accept being Lollard and that game ended very quickly afterward) but I just became empress of Hispania. The Countess (Shaykhah), the Duchess (Emira), and the Queen (Sultana) all had weird clothing as a result of being Andalusian, but never stuff that was uniquely Muslim; until I became empress.

What up with that D: (I cheated Piety because I didn't want to wait for my cynical, lustful empress to get the required piety by the way) Is there any way to change it?

I'm aware of that, but my previous rulers at the king level didn't have it; in fact, none of my courtiers had that kind of head scarf (they only had the catholic ones).

head scarfs have been used by women quite some time now? even by christians, hell the virgin mary is often depicted wearing one.

I don't like it because I can barely see the face okay D: I was just wondering if there was a way to get rid of it (the next empress in line also had the head scarf when she ascended to the throne, so I'm doubting not, but still).

The headwear is decided by your culture not your religion. Facial features are calculated from ethnicity.

I think you will find that all empresses of that culture use that head dress.

That's so dumb; If the Kingdom level queens don't wear that why would emperor level empresses wear it? I mean I know it's not actually going to happen with the AI but still .

I think you will find that Queens had a different head dress, which is also standardised for the culture.

To add, veils were actually common in parts of Europe during CKII's timeframe.

I know it has to do with culture and I know Catholics used them as well, but I honestly doubt the empress of a large, pan Iberian nation would just start wearing a veil just because she gave herself a new title. I had never seen that veil used until I made the empire, and the empress was the only one who wore it (her daughter and her second daughter both ascend to the throne with the veil on). That's messed up.

also yes Sultanas had a different headdress but that was still just a crown (just a weird looking one).

Generally in-game, as you probably know, characters change headgear and even hairstyles based on their title. I think that's just what happened here - just a nice roll of the dice. I do vaguely remember one time I created a female Muslim ruler in ruler designer for fun, and she also had a veil on. But that's probably a coincidence. Again, I think it's just random luck.

Adopting a different form of dress upon attaining a new rank is actually really rather common. She needs some reason to differentiate herself from all the common nobles, after all, so why not us a veil?

I just killed enough people to see around 4 empresses, all of them had the veil, so I doubt it's random luck.
