Why does Islam always collapse?

Just wondering. In almost(?) every game I've played, the moral authority of the Sunni and Shia religions collapses, which in turns leads to the rise of all of their heresies. Even when the Muslims are fairly successful and the Christians are losing ground, Islamic authority tends to go down, while Christendom stays near 100%. Is this WAD? Does anyone else experience this? Can anyone tell me why this always happens?

In my games their authority always goes down, too. I thought that's because I holy war the shit out of them (every successful holy war decrease the authority by one per cent).
But there might be more to that ...

Don't forget that failing a Holy War or Jihad will also drop Moral Authority. That second one is a real killer - 5%.

I don't know. Probably a counter-act to their ridiculous early game with Egypt carving chunks out of the HRE and Byzantium.

In the one game I played on the Muslim side, the opposite was true and the Catholic religion lost a lot of moral authority. The side the player plays, if they play well, will usually be stronger.
