Initially, the tracker didn't work at all. All it did was detect which country I played, but it tracked zero stats. After trying to get it to work by playing modded and unmodded games, enabling cloud saving and posting on both forums and reddit, it turned out that it works currently only for Ironman games.
Now I really hope this is not working as intended. I believe a large portion of playerbase uses mods, or flatout does not use Ironman even without mods disabled. If that's how it's supposed to be, then this cool feature is useless for everyone who does not enjoy Ironman or likes mods. I see no reason why make the career tracker if it works only in one specific gamemode. Furthermore, if that's the intended usage then it should have been stated so in the patchnotes.
If this is a bug, I hope it gets fixed.
But if it's working as intended, I ask of devs to reconsider and make it non-ironman compatible as well. Frankly, it would suck big time if it remains this way.
I would appreciate some feedback on this.

Maybe this is the reason why it worked for me ;).Can you post this as well in the DEV thread/version 1.11.7 thread?Just to make DEV aware of it?

I wish they would have let us know the tracker only worked for ironman capable games. I wasted a lot of time trying to get it to work. I won't bother now since I only play modded games.

I guess because the stats can then be comparable? I mean some mods are insane and would generate insane stats that would have zero value when compared with others.

It's almost certainly working as intended because if you play w/o ironman, then cheats are enabled. If you spawn in modern tanks in 1936, racking up stats w/ those would completely ruin the point of the stats. An unfortunate side effect (although also certainly intended) is that stats don't work w/ mods that break ironman. Cause if you play a completely unbalanced mod, that could also ruin the point of the stats. So yeah, kinda disappointing, but it at least makes sense why it's set up this way.

I wonder what amount of programming manpower was poured into this useless feature (after all neither Stellaris nor EU IV has it) instead of using that manpower for fixing bugs. I am pretty sure that most players don‘t play Ironman on a regular basis sinxe this game very heavily lives through the mods available.

Are they comparable anyway and does it even matter? If one just want see his own stats.
Plus you can use trainer with ironman and cheat with it. You earn achievements easy if you want with trainer so they are not comparable too. So if someone wanna cheat he/she gonna cheat anyway.

Cause if you play a completely unbalanced mod, that could also ruin the point of the stats

So what is point of the stats? Just looking. If you play with mods its your own choice and you can remember when watching those stats, that they are not serious statistical data. Some aces are killed in vanilla and some in mods. Not a big deal.

Hell why not make it like this: "page 1 ironman stats" and page 2 "non-ironman stats? All could enjoy.

Well you can use trainer that work with ironman and research all tech in 1 day. If that makes stats irrelevent.. its matter of opinion. Its cheater problem then if he feels his stats and achievements are messed.

Probably not a lot IMO. Paradox already collects telemetry since devs had publish stats like % of countries picked, % of bookmark popularity, mod popularity, that sort of things. I have no access to what actual changes in code they have done but I'd wager most of the work was adding a way to download the telemetry from their server back to the game and creating an interface for them, not really the same specialization as rooting out bugs.

As is, it'd be annoying if someone who cares about their stats had them ruined from messing around with mods every now and then. As to why there aren't two pages? I have no idea, that sounds like an excellent solution

I can understand why it only tracks ironman. Once Big-D stats are available, you are going to start hearing the sound of zippers. Those whipping them out are going to want everyone else's junk measured with the same method their own junk is measured.

With stats being stored locally, I don't really see the point: it's not like you can't edit them into anything you want them to be.

Why do you have a 90% agreement rate; but when I state the obvious I got the fanboys over me XD

Also, im extremely glad we got stats now instead of Armor not being binary like it was announced months ago and advertised :) /s guess itll be fixed in the next patch 2 years from now

You don't get either/or. Game development does not work that way.

And as a general note: the career profile does work in non-ironman. It does not currently support mods that change the checksum, however, and will disable tracking in savegames where you've used console commands etc.

Oh and since the feature is about statistics, has the Combat Log casualty tracking bug in 1.11 been fixed?

Couldn't we just have had two categories in the Career Tracker, one "Vanilla" and one "Modded"? I feel like this will be a very niche addition to the game, since I can't imagine the cross between "People who care about the stats the Career Tracker tracks" and "People who do not regularly use checksum-altering mods" is very significant.
