As thread title, if one of your co-religionists is attacked in a holy war but also has a peasant revolt (religious uprisings do it too as I recall) you can't offer to join as defender of the holy war. It's been this way for ages but I can't see what the justification or indeed point is. I often end up chasing down the rebels myself if he's busy and then joining the war anyway to stop the enemy gaining ground but that's of course not always possible in time to save the day for the faith. Can't remember ever seeing this explained, anyone know?

I've never heard about it. I'm more puzzled myself by one of your allies having a peasant revolt preventing you from asking a vassal to change religion.
Yep, that too, and I thought about tacking on a moan about vassals fighting each other preventing succession law changes as that makes no sense to me either - they're not contesting the succession or the rights of the crown so why is it an impediment?

Sadly, all of these impediments may have been implemented to keep the game from being "Too Easy"...

I'm pretty sure that it's because you're both already mutually hostile to the rebels
Thanks, that makes sense in terms of the mechanic (if not for my idea of role play).
