why do you have to be online to load a game?

Hi,
What is the justification for not allowing a user to resume a game off line? I.e. why do you need to have a connection to resume a game. You are able to save a game off line - why can you not resume it? There is no may to explicitly save a game locally?

I am going to a place without internet - I can not do a local save and resume?

So they can track you on the web, and to check your key code that you really owned the game, so that you do have legal copy of the game, and not illegal copy of the game installed on your OS
