Why do I have so few Way of Life events ?

I don't know if it has already been asked, but my googling was unsuccessful.

Well, my problem is that, since February of so, I have almost no events through my Focus, except the military ones (i.e. the Strategist chain-event than never finishes with the Warrior Focus and the hunts with the Hunting Focus, even if they became so rare compared to before).

It's a bit enraging for the Family/Scholarship/Business and Rulerships Focus that are based on event outbreaks... I hate having a 45 years long reign without ONE event .

I don't know if it is because of a patch, because of a bug, or because I was lucky with the MTTH before... It's kind of sad as I really likes the events :'(.

Yeah, events should definitely occur more often.

In my current game I had a ruler who got an hunting dog called Lucifer when he was around 20-25 years old. When he was 57, he began training the dog. When he died at the age of 83, the dog still lived.

Have you tried verifying your files? If some events aren't showing at all that could fix it.

I got some events with business and war focus (training, wargames, trade expedition, garden, architect, mint coin). For the other focus, I don't get much of them (although I almost never use Theology, Family and Carousing).

Again, trying verifying your files with Steam. Shouldn't take long and it won't do any harm if it isn't the problem.

It could be bad luck on your part but I haven't had any shortage of WoL events.

I usually get all the ones I am interested in just slightly over a 5 year period.

I don't know if said events repeat themselves if you keep to a focus for too long. And by repeating events I mean the big life changing ones. Such as build a great tower/maze, recruiting a quick/attractive lover, or a few of those scholarship traits.

I used to only have family focus decades and no other focuses. These days I generally cycle my focuses every 6 years or so and end up with hunting past 50.

I can tell you family focus will keep firing off events regardless of how long you have had that focus....

I have no hard basis for this, but my experience has been that you seem to get more WoL events if you have fewer traits and also get special ones if the stat associated with your current focus is lower than 8 including the bonus from the focus itself.

Like when the character panel is full with 6+ traits I get very few, but if I have a character who came out of education with only 1-2 traits they fire like crazy.

It feels to me when WOL got released the amount of events you get every year decreased. But as a whole there are more events spread throughout the focuses. Try turning off WOL Im shure you will notice a difference.

Special mention for rulership; I never got a way of life trait with it, though maybe it's because I never do the right thing to peasant (or maybe I do but sometimes the second event never seem to fire).

I just had a ruler who grew up and quite amazingly didn't get any traits except born in the purple, augustus and the third stewardship one(i forget it's name). I chose rulership focus and got 4 personality traits within two years. So yeah, there probably is something to it.

I've gotten architect off of it. It is a very good life focus, I find. Gives diligent and just traits very reliably, at least for me.

Rulership either makes you into a great ruler or kills you with Stressed/Depressed.

I believe the lowered the stressed / depressed rate on Rulership and raised it on Business.

Back to OP, most events happen fairly regularly for me except for a few that I think are supposed to be rare like the building a tower event.
