It doesn't ring any bell to me it has claims on Korea. It doesn't even have any claims on Tibet. This is absurd and totally an output from the ignorance of historical facts. It must be FIXED.
Well, China certainly "has claims" on both, their validity is up for discussion. It doesn't ring any bell to me it has claims on Korea. It doesn't even have any claims on Tibet. This is absurd and totally an output from the ignorance of historical facts. It must be FIXED.
Korea? From memory only, I think at one or two times in the past 3 000 years it was part of China.
Though it's worth noting that Chinese presence in Korea was always limited to only a part of Korean peninsula. As part of the expansion during Emperor Wu, Western Han established settlements in North-Western Korea from 108 BC onwards

I think the poster is actually requesting we invade the PRC and force them to release Tibert and revoke thier cores on both Tibert and Korea.
I will see everyone in Hanoi for basic training.
What does the cat in "Reynard the Fox" have to do with Chinese land claims?I think the poster is actually requesting we invade the PRC and force them to release Tibert and revoke thier cores on both Tibert and Korea.

@nerd Do you know how long I looked at that for to find out what you meant, I even had to google these things.
Crazy claims go both ways. I've heard Koreans talking about how Korea should (once unified) get those Korean populated border regions back from China. The thing is a Korean minority itself lives in China. It is thus nice to claim China founded their civilization to keep them in check. I don´t want to annoy any Chinese person but the sheer amount of effort the USSR spent to convince China that Mongolia wasn´t China does suggest their claims are a little crazy. I wouldn´t be suprised these claims are to prepare for an annexation and repopulating of North Korea.
(Outer) Mongolia was a province of the Qing dynasty that became de facto independent after 1911 and came under the USSR's protection. The Republic of China claimed all territory that had been held by the Qing, and then the People's Republic of China claimed all the same territory that had been claimed by the Republic. It's really not that extravagant a claim, especially because from an ideological perspective both the ROC and later PRC claim to be the nation-state of the Zhonghua nation, which includes not just Han people but all peoples who happened to live in the borders of the Qing dynasty circa 1860. A self-serving and not very realistic definition, to be sure, but it was based off the the territory of the previous multi-ethnic Chinese state and not on random craziness. The thing is a Korean minority itself lives in China. when you learn or get to know any rightful history then can find a disputable issues ..Well, China certainly "has claims" on both, their validity is up for discussion.
They could be as bogus as my claims on Windsor Castle, or as valid as mine on my house, but probably in between. They are still "claims".
China has a very long history, and over that time has occupied or made "core" many regions. Tibet was part of the "Old Silk Road". Does that make it part of China? Debatable point.

edit: And what are we supposed to fix, please?
How convenient... no it is notAs part of the expansion during Emperor Wu, Western Han established settlements in North-Western Korea from 108 BC onwards

IIRC, Japanese archaeologists did a lot of excavations on the Han empire settlements in Korea the 1930s. Of course they have since been accused of fabricating evidence of Chinese settlement to further the colonialist agenda of their own empire. And so on and so forth
