It is no more wrong than wanting him to be called Karl. You might as well complain about people referring to Marcus Antonius as Mark Antony, Kurus as Cyrus (we won't even touch the issue of different alphabets), Kongzi as Confucius, or Yeshua as Jesus.

There's a reason why we call that country France and not Gaul, you know. It was the most important part of the Frankish territory.

With the new bookmark, why should the dynasty be named after a man who is king for a few month and who can died before doing anything great? Carloman Karling would be a shame. There were no dynasty names at this time. They were all ahistorical... And you could say Karling/Caroling cames from Charles Martell
