Why can't the ruler stop being a general?

my point was when general was a ruler(king or padisah) there are no examples of death in battles (or i dont heard any, if there's 1-2 examples out there, still it's too easy to die in the game).

remember to remove your ruler as commander of that army, when he is no longer needed (due to already winning the war, or peace)..And of course loosing the battle increases the risk of bad stuff happening.
