Why Cant I

Annex Illyria, i finally got on top of them in years of on again off again war. they have no provinces, no troops, like 2 boats and thats it, im holding 4 of their provinces and i need them cos i have no cash at all lol. but i cant annex them, any ideas?

There's your problem.. You can only annex countries that have been reduced to 1 province.

and the only way to get their no capital provinces, would be to get them given to me in a cease fire. so the only way to kill them off would be to accept a CF, take all their provs. wait for the CF to expire and go kill their last prov. that seems, annoying lol. any other way i can take complete control of the other non capital provs without a CF?

This is an endless debate, but I suppose the reason for it is that a country, right from the begining, can conquer the world in under twenty years.

But yes you are correct when you say you need more than one war to annex a country with more than two provinces.

nope. This is the way PI works most of their games, it is a way of game balancing. Some hate it, others don't mind so much. The bottom line is that if a nation has more than one province you are going to have to fight more than war to take them out of the game.

kk cheers fellas, i guess i can understand why they do it like that, but still a bit frustrating, sonly my first campaign, and they have been a thorn in my side for quite some time hehe, they were allied with thrace (thylis or w/e) and kept attackin when i tried to wipe thrace out lol. guess im just glad i finally kicked their butts and wish they were gone for good

IIRC it is, but I'd advise against it..

It is possible but I see no logic behind that.

EDIT: Beaten to it

anyways ceasefires only last 5 years. I am sure it won't kill you to wait that long. Though you can join a war against someone you have a ceasefire with and there won't be a stab hit.

ye pretty sure its like -5 stab hit for breaking a CF, so not really worth it
