Why can't I select BOTH Ramazan & Karaman as co-belligerents with Aq Koyunlu?

I'm playing as Ottomans. Aq Koyunlu has 2 allies, Ramazan & Karaman. I have reconquest CB on all 3 due to Ottoman's Anatolian cores at game start. My 3 targets have no other allies, no-one guaranteeing them, & I have had no warnings from them (or anyone else).

In the reconquest war declaration screen on Aq Koyunlu, it shows both Ramazan & Karaman will be called in, BUT screen will only allow me to tick Ramazan as a co-belligerent. It wont even let me select Karaman INSTEAD of Ramazan as co-belligerent!

Can anyone explain why I can't select Karaman, or tick both, as co-belligerents?

The only additional relationship that is even remotely relevant is that Ramazan & Karaman are rivals of each other.
