I decided my Poland should start lifting the Ottoman yoke from the Balkans and took Morea, Hellas, Macedonia, and Ionia, intending to liberate Greece. But I cannot do it. :(

The first two provinces are required, the second two are extras.

It's 1764, and their revolter dates are 1551-1820.

What gives? Any ideas?

You're right, Hellas. And I posted in haste; my problem is actually a bit different. I can release Hellas, but only with the provinces of Morea and Hellas. I thought if I controlled any extra provinces, all of them would comprise the new vassal? At least this is the way it works with the various South American revolters...

Yes, I encountered the same thing trying to create Quebec. As Austria, I had captured all the Quebec CB shield provinces with the intention of releasing Quebec, though they only got the area around the St. Laurence river.

Yep, a similar problem, when I released, them as a vassal.:p

Well it specifies what provinces are released in the revolt text.

Are you guys saying it doesn't match these provinces? Or just that it doesn't give all the CB shield provinces? Because it is not supposed to give all the CB shield provinces, if I recall. It would be nice to be able to determine what provinces are given, however...

Damn, I should check the files before making assumptions. I didn't know releasing did not include all CB provinces, but you are correct. The South American countries I mentioned all have no "extras", but Quebec does.

This is Quebec:
minimum = { 111 110 109 106 105 108 107 }
extra = { 121 122 123 124 125 126 127 128 129 130 131 96 98 97 95 }

and this is Colombia:
minimum = { 158 39 161 162 163 164 160 159 157 156 155 154 }
extra = { }

And it would be very nice to designate which provinces are to be included. I just edited revolt.txt to allow a full-strength Hellas.

Yes, I'm afraid the release vassal mechanism while useful isn't as complete as you might wish. I can't really see why it should be restricted to realistic or historic nations, but it is. And they should get all of their CB provinces, but they don't (or not always, as in the Greece example).:(

...and that can easily be changed. vassals only recieve what's in the "minimum" line - just add more to it. the "extra" are there in the case of a country forming by revolt: the rebels (in 1.04 at least, i think havard said it's wee different in 1.05) have to control all of the minimums to form a nation - the extras can join too, but only if they are also rebel controlled. i think what's different about 1.05 is that a nation will form out of whatever minimums the rebels have regardless, but the extras work in the same way.

AFAIK, the rebels don't need to control all minimum provinces; the provinces listed there are just the ones that are alternative requirements for the revolter to revolt (i.e. any minimum province is needed for the revolt, rather than all).
