I risked marrying my cousin solely because I thought I'd be able to place her on the throne of the other big Russian duchy...allowing my son to form the kingdom of Rus. The game won't let me press her claims though...before it's asked, the country's succession laws (both mine and theirs) is agnatic-cognatic primogeniture, so I don't know why couldn't be on the throne.

You don't seem to able to press your wife's claims (Maybe not even the claims of any females in your court? I haven't checked). Not sure why, but it does make sense to be honest... After 50-100 years of game time there are thousands of women around who have claims on nearly every Duchy and Kingdom in existence, and if you could just marry her and immediately be able to invade the place she came from it would be a bit easy. Even as it is, you just need to marry your heir to the daughter of any King or Duke and you know that the offspring of your heir will have all the claims to that country. If your smart with marriages its very easy to farm claims.

this seems to be it, because she was in my court. This is kinda disappointing to be honest, because they were "second hand" claims to begin with, and won't be passed down to my kids.
