Why can't I arrange certain marriages with myself as a Patrician?

I've had this issue with a Venetian Patrician without using ruler designer, haven't tried with Patricians with any other republics yet.
General curiosity type question-
For those running into this problem using the ruler designer: Is the ruler you are replacing married in the bookmark start? Perhaps a flag isn't getting properly cleared when using the RD to replace an existing character.

I'm not sure, but it shouldn't matter in my case as I'm no longer playing the character I designed, but his son. Furthermore I've already been married once, but my wife died and now I cannot marry again (even if I use the marry_anyone console cheat).
I'm having this issue as well. Was there ever a fix? I've tried all suggestions and avenues here. I'm trying to choose an "older wife" like 60ish. When I go through the liege of the woman in the character screen he only offers me young women. I'm only able to marry young women.
The issue is that the arrange marriage window excludes all the random women in each court to cut down on size. Thats not a big deal if you are a noble, but is a problem if you are a patrician.
As a patrician, learn to simply ignore the arrange marriage window. Instead do a a character search (female, married = no, ruler = no, my culture (optional), my religion) and arrange marriages through that. Not as easy, but gives more variety.
Using various methods to invite high ranking noble women and marrying them in your court, therefore avoiding dowry is also a standard patrician tactic.

I have a similar problem which also happens when i dont have a RD Ruler when playing with any republic no matter if self founded or any Republic already in the game.
The thing is the problem for me is not always consistent though. Sometimes i can select a wife and the button to send the request is grey. I fullfill all necessary requirments and all that and the button is not telling me why its not working.
Even when i use the marry all cheat the button still stays grey.
