Playing a Muslim, it is in my best interests to routinely eliminate male dynasty members. Because I am a kind and just ruler, I don't enjoy killing them out of hand. Whenever possible, and if I can do it without taking a reputation hit, I will banish them instead. Make them go out, see the world, try to make their own way in the court of another noble, etc.
But it's actually very uncommon for me to get the ability to banish someone. Most of the time my options are release, execute, or ransom.
What's going on here? What's keeping me from banishing these people? I'm the King of Mesopotamia! I rule with a (velvet-covered) iron fist! I should be able to kick these clowns out if I want.
On a very similar note, why can't I plot to assassinate my own sons? There are times when the branches on the Family Tree get a little dense and could benefit from some preemptive pruning before they become a problem, laying about, drinking the wine, chasing harem girls and so on. But I don't even have the option to plot. I have the "direct" option, where I press the "Assassinate" button in the Diplomacy screen and get a non-refundable one-shot succeed-or-fail chance (usually at very low odds). But the option to scheme and intrigue and lure backers into the plot doesn't exist. Why is that?
