Every other week, I come to this forum and there are dozens of copies of the same thread, all are mostly in what I think are chinese characters, partially using latin characters.
Does this happen to everyone?
Or is it just me?
It only happens here.
Where do I report forum bugs?

We're under a very persistent spam bot attack and have been for the last few months, but today is the worst so far. Report threads you find.

Well, it already disappeared, but I'll remember to do so next time.
Where do I report them?

There's a "report" button under every post. Click that and fill it out. This can also be used for trolls, or if you need help like you accidentally double-posted a thread.
Alright, thanks.

They're highly active forums that don't have any requirements to post in or see.
Didn't know the bots had the ability of tracking down if a forum was active or not, but I guess it makes sense now that you mention that as the common denominator. Because otherwise there are other forums that also don't have any requirements to post in, which don't seem to be the target of bot attacks.

Every now and then I'll be going through an old, dead forum and find a bot post or two from like 10 years ago we missed. They're rare, but not unheard of.

A bot trap has been suggested here: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...prove-the-forum.1004728/page-22#post-25621194

From a purely PR point of view having the forum infested with spam doesn't send out a good message and as good as the moderators are, bots are by definition faster. I've been a forum admin before admittedly not at this scale but we had bot problems too. Every time I see the threads I lose a little more faith that the forum software or setup is fit for purpose. This place has lost over 12 months of searchable content and gives a daily appearance of being unable to combat spam. I don't post a lot, but I do read and I find the time I'm spending doing the latter reducing every day.

comparatively speaking bots register here far less than normal people, and to put the onus on people to prove they aren't a bot would just lead to the bots being nice till they are approved.

Also, it turns off people who might be signing up already flustered because they encountered a bug or had trouble receiving a code or something.
