Are there only bears? If so that's too unrealistic. I want cats, dogs and most importantly honey badgers as well.
...actually a fair point, considering the theme of the expansion. There's plenty of Eastern folklore about animals acting like people.Bears pretending to be humans IMHO fit actual Medieval folklore better than some other stuff which is in the game

Cat's are in the game too since the patch. They have a own culture next to horses and bears now.
There's also SCP-1732, Roman Emperor Septimius Severus, and African lion.Reddit's made references to SCP-1845, and OP is named Foxx_of_nod, so clearly foxes should be next.
Which would also tie in with Stellaris...

I don't mind +2 Axe because it's never happened to me even though I play in places you'd find it frequently. I don't mind horses because you have to go out of your way to do anything really crazy with them. However, bears are too much for me. Literal immediate family members who my character may have given birth to. Suddenly turning into bears because of a meme. I'd excuse it due to rarity, but I've already seen it more than once. I wish there were a way to play without bears, but keep supernatural events.Although I probably wouldn't use it personally, an option to disable silly events seems reasonable. It could include this, the +2 Axe, possibly the cat, Glitterhoof, and Horse M.D., though the latter require being a lunatic, so they fit a bit better.
Yeah, I'm less steamed that there's a silly bear character, and more steamed that they are set up in such a way that they will often end up in charge of realms, or contaminating my dynasty...Perhaps the event should only occur for characters with no known parents. It's a bit more bearlievable that someone who just showed up at your court was secretly a bear than that your wife gave birth to one.

My heir turned into a bear a few months after I started the game. As far as I can tell, the event specifically targets immediate family members of rulers. This means when it fires there is a pretty big chance someone's heir is going to be a bear. And then? Bear ruler.Wait, so they can actually rule countries in Europe? That's... rather stupid, actually. I agree I would like to turn that nonsense off.

The fun thing about horses is you had to do creative and sneaky manipulation of mechanics to get it to work in the first place. It's not fun if you're just handed an animal ruler that can mate with anyone and behaves just like a normal character but more annoying to look at. I don't think the person who programmed this event chain really gets what people find endearing about the animal events. The cats, I find totally acceptable, for instance.Yeah, unlike Horses you can legit get Bear rulers and dynasty members through totally mundane play. Even by this game's supernatural standards (other than Satanists, but those can be turned off on their own), that's more than a bit much.
If it was a random, awkward traveler who showed up as a courtier? That would be cool/funny. But "lolz random bear kids" is stupid, even by our standards.
