If someone is fielding all assaults, they are either playing a skirmish where their opponent probably has all assaults (and both sides know this is an all assault match), or it is late in the campaign, there will likely still be some mediums and heavies showing up and the assault lance will be trading turns with turrets. I still expect to keep at least a couple heavies in my lance, even in the end of the campaign, just for a little better initiative.
Going last has a small benefit in that the mech can't be knocked further down the initiative track. I have no problem with that.
If an assault mech gets knocked down after it has acted, it won't be able to stand up until the next turn. That means that any OpFor assaults will get a chance to make called shots.
