why are my conquest not for me only?

Hi,

Still beginner here...

I have invaded England and they capitulated against me when my armies' divisions ran over their little ridiculous island.

Capitulation!

But now, Scotland (more or less) is Italian, and England+Wales is German.

My question is: why do Italy have land? I was the one forcing the UK to flee to Ireland and Man island!

Since the war is still going, there was no peace talk in which I would have seen Italy making demands.

(BTW: Italy has fought a lot against UK in Africa, because WW2 obviously.)

It is because Italy participated in the war and accumulated war score "points". Reference this HOI4 wiki page War Participation and recent forum discussion War Score.

If there hasn't been a peace conference yet, don't worry - it's not permanent. It's just occupation, they do not own it. You can even try to ask them to hand it over through a diplo action. Nonetheless you can take that land for yourself in a peace conference, since you probably have much more war score than they do.

Very doubtful about that, also claiming territory "occupied" (even if they never set a single foot there) by the enemy in a peace conference is probably the most expensive claim possible by a large margin.

Not being able to annex the land you conquered and hold is the most frustrating thing about peace conferences. Sure it should/might result in political isolation, embargos, espionage activities and maybe even a (cold) war but that your troops are just being disregarded is bullshit.
