Okay, I'm being a little biased here, I'm sure there are a few Axis armoured cars too that could do with some love, but it seems to me that Allied heavy armoured cars (i.e. Greyhounds and the Daimler) are too expensive (80-100 points) and come too late to be useful for anything other than target practice by German rocket bombers.

Clue me in, it would seem to me these guys would be ideal phase A units, yet the Daimler isn't available until phase B and the greyhound costs a ton and is available in minute quantities compared to the Stuarts. What gives?

Greyhounds are a nice Phase A weapon. They can definitely stand to be cheaper and/or more accurate, but it's a pretty fun unit nonetheless. 4 Scouts per card means you have enough room for a few Greyhound cards. Throw one down a suitably spacious (outside Panzershrek range) lane where you don't think the enemy will be putting their Firefly, and enjoy routing armored cars (because it's not like you're actually going to hit them with 4 Acc).

One thing I do know is that early on when people don't know how to play. They demand things. I am not a great player yet and will wait a bit until I am sure it's not me!

I'm actually beginning to think I'm not a terrible player now.

I'm looking at how to play differently to others and an early armoured push with scout and armoured cars seems like a pretty effective strategy if used cleverly. The current state of affairs prevents me from trying it out.

Excuse me but why would you think a daimler is to expensive for 80 points? It is highly mobile, has the same AP and rate of fire as the american Stuart and has high optics. I think the price is pretty much justified. As for why it does not come in Phase A I don't know. Maybe it would give all the 20mm vehicles of the SS and the Phase A tank tab of Luftlande an even harder time then they have now.

No HE, optics on a vehicle in this game in my view is pretty pointless(compared to infantry to me at least) as vehicles cant hide and less armour then a stuart.

Also, the daimler cant come in till phase B, when most tanks have kicked it up a notch in firepower, bam. They have a firefly in phase A, a sherman for the USA, the 6th get tetrarchs with littlejohns for what was it, 55/60 points or something? They are very specialised, the tetrarchs seem to have been pointed according to that(unless things changed since the streams with them), but the armoured cars in general seem rather expencive if armed with a "proper gun" in my view. If you think a no HE vehicle will make it a harder time, just deploy infantry AT guns :)

I agree that they need a price decrease. The Sd.Kfz. 231 costs 60 points (still only available in phase B). It has slightly better armor and HE damage while it is a tad slower and has less range. I'd be fine with 65 points for the Dingo.

Yeah the 231 was another vehicle i like in theory but cost is a bit of a hinder, I would knock it down to 50 and see how it does (i mean, this seems fair right?) and also knock it into phase A.

I dont know if its that they were just last minute forgotten or eugen decided to not follow the thing they said of "phase a for the recon" but it does seem like armoured cars have gotten the short end of the stick at the moment.

Especially given that armoured cars you'd think would be at the forefront of any meeting engagement.

The german armoured car comes in phase b aswell. Its weaker then allies cars. Its also more needed in phase a. Because in phase a you have to do with just 3 pzchreck teams. The allied transports kill the german halftrack transports. So their inf can be supported better by there transports. When they see a panzerschreck the schreck kills 1 transport then gets focussed down. An armoured 20 mm car would be no luxury. It can still be taken out by tanks and at guns. Prob massed transports asswell. Please move them to phase a so the 12th can hold back the tide of killertransports.

It's good, to have some mobile eyes in an armored push. :)

Churchills.... Mobile.... XD

But seriously, even with mobile vehicles, I would still rather use a plane, or recon infantry to make attacks with. I mean, if i see a recon vehicle, its primary target and dead before anything else, simply to stop it spotting my spotters, whenever I have used them, it seems to be how people view it.

ironically it's easier to spam (light)tanks in phase one than it is to spam Armored cars, for both side. You would think that the recon phase would be more dominated by armored car.
