New player here. I've been playing as the duke of Bohemia in 1066 and the HRE emperor insists on having an antipope the whole time, is this normal?

Also, screw Ireland. 1066 Duke of Bohemia is the most chilled start you can get, in my very noob opinion.

Well, historically, there was an anti-Pope more often than not from about 1060 to about 1180, and more often than not, those anti-Popes were supported by the Holy Roman Emperor.

Yup and intended.
He starts cynical, has Free Investiture and lots of potential candidates (at least prince bishop rank).

The HRE emperor historically was at odds with the Papacy with Matilda of Tuscany backing the Pope (as in the Road to Canossa) which would eventually lead to Emperor Henry setting up the Anti-Pope Clement III.
