I was happy... Although unfortunately Johan has a tendency to make me less happy with every statement he makes after the initial introduction 
Huzzah! I actually never thought they would make a sequel to Vicky, but it seems there is a god after all!
Indeed - and this would certainly help attract new players as well.
On the other hand, maybe PI have worked out that releasing bugged games is secretly exactly what it's loyal base want and at the same time realise that they are never going to access a huge market with this type of game. Your average 14 year old is not going to pick up a game like V2 in preference to Tom Clancy's Completely Made Up Spy Team Shooter 17 or Grand Theft Cabbage 8. So better to keep us all happy with bugs, mods and manuals that explain as little as possible. Makes for an active forum community.
Vicky is one of the best gaming concepts ever!
I still play it (well Revolutions actually) and enjoy it immensly - well done for a 6 year old game! /Mattias
I'm glad he did it because when Vicky was released 2003 it was like a dream come true, a game actually simulating the entire economy and unlike almost all other games forcing the player to understand why not even strong powers like the British empire waged endless wars to conquer the entire world (only about 1/4th of it...).Considering the convincing that Johan had to do to get Fredrik on board for Victoria 2 I think it's safe to say it was not primarily a business decision. So now it's up to you to prove Johan was right in sticking his neck out

I loved Victoria!!!, thank you paradox and where do I sign up to pre-order.
If HOI3 is any indication what will happen in Victoria it will be awesome.
The improvments in HOI3 is just incredible.
Love the combat system
Love the tech tree changes
Love how the diplmacy and espionage work.
on and on.
Give me more DLC and I will gladly buy all of them, my small way of showing support to Paradox, I think their games are to cheap anyway.

I too had given up hope on a Vicky II years ago, what a great surprise! I just hope the sequal is able to fill the shoes of the original, I can't think of too many other games that I have remained playing for over 5 years
Actually, I think that's a pretty good description of the Senate.
Anyway, quite excited to hear this. I bought Victoria and Revolutions, but was never quite able to make it past the intimidating UI to figure out what I was doing. But the game has so many features I find absolutely fascinating (pops, internal politics, etc) that I'm definately looking forward to a new version!
