I agree with a lot of people here. Im not liking the way Hearts of Iron 4 is going much less complex. I like complexity which is why Victoria 2 is one of my favourite games. Hopefully Victoria 3 is made with a completely different design direction that HOI4 or EU4 or CK2s latest expansion.

But my other dream would be Victoria-like game happening in modern times. Let's say from the dissolution of Soviet Union (1991) to some point in not so future history.

I would probably be more focused on diplomacy, economy and proxy wars. Cyber warfare would be a thing, getting support for your actions through media etc.

If their new IPO will get through, Victoria 3 will be mobile only XD

I would love a Vicky 3, but I'd like to see a revamp of how states/provinces work so its easier to get pretty borders without using console commands. I would also like a revamp of colonial administrations. Specify which provinces go into an administration, government type, colonial focus(development or resource extraction, etc.)

I still think that we should have kidnapped @BjornB to demand a Victoria 3... after that we demand a Rome 2..

Btw that plan was canceled because of the upkeep costs of keeping Bjorn. Beer is so expensive... ;-)

1000 times this. My pretty-border-autism just can't take ugly ones.
If Vicky 3 is announced I'd buy a ticket for the hypetrain asap.

The thing about HOI was that the last game was VERY complicated, even to those who might have had a lot of experience with games like Victoria, it was a whole new level of complexity. As someone who's played Vicky II longer than any other PDX Grand Strategy I found HOI III impossible to get into.

Also, given the attention HOI 4 has got from figures such as Angry Joe, HOI is probably going to be attracting a larger amount of casual gamers than many of PDX's other titles.

I'd love to see Victoria III. Hopefully it will be of a high standard, building on the rather simplistic design of Victoria II - and possibly incorporating some features from HOI4.

Certain types of people might get uptight about such things being in video games, but climate change should make the next century or two "interesting." With Resource Wars, the resurgence of extremism and far right views, and a grab-bag of near future fictional technologies, I could see a pretty in-depth, challenging, and maybe even fun game being put together. Fate of the World, but Clasewitz'd and taken up a notch.

Perhaps they could throw in basic space exploration, for prestige and precious science. Mars, the Moon, and the Asteroid Belt offer limitless possibilities, and can be fleshed out with simpler graphics, modifiers, and flavor text.

"Mister/Madam President, the meteor we tried to place in Lower Earth Orbit entered the atmosphere, and it exploded over <REDACTED>, devastating the city."
+10 Infamy

As for Victoria III, I'll buy it at full price whenever they get around to making it, assuming the initial launch isn't an unmitigated, Rome II-esque disaster.

A Victoria 3 game compatible with the HOI4 engine that would allow me the possibility of playing a Mega-campaign spanning 1836 to 1948 would be nice. To take a country that historically did not exist, like the CSA, and guide them all the way through to the end of WW2 would be awesome for a fan of ahistory like myself.

It seems like it still has plenty of depth. It looks like they're just making the games more accessible and easier to play through UI, etc.
