Who still plays vanilla HoI2?

Y'know, as opposed to Doomsday or Armageddon.

Just curious 'cus I'm tempted to install it and see what it's like after all these years.

What's the AI like? Are there any major bugs left?

The only good about vanilla is its got less lag for multiplayer.

I play vanilla with SMEP and DAIM. It's still fun. I had a few trial games of DD on a friend's PC and loathed the espionage implementation. Never tried Arm.

Will move to HOI3 when it comes out, though.

What Vanilla doesnt have and why I don't play it:

• Intelligence tab
• Full IC takeover
• Research Team Takeover

However, vanilla does have a 1.3(b) patch...

I still play HoI2 since I never bought DD or Arm. I use DAIM, and it's good for a bit of fun.

The "Small Enhancements Package". It adds support for non-historical actions, with lots of new events, but doesn't change the game rules at all.

You just need a paypal account which can be registered with any Western European bank account, so don't come up with cheap excuses like "I don't have a credit card".

I only play Arma which is so much better than vanilla HoI2 that I cannot imagine anybody *wants* to stay with the old (as opposed to *must* stay).

I only play Vanilla with the newest updates. Still find it extremely fun, plus, I am not good at adding mods to my games and trying to figure out how to play each version...Besides........5 or so more months and HOI3 will be out!

Still a great game.
