37. Operation Ragnarök, part 2
Paratroopers sealed a hole between lake Erie and lake Ontario and captured undefended city of Buffalo. Air supply bridge has been immediately established so paratroopers are well supplied and prepared for an eventual counterattack from Allies.
Supply situation, as you can see supplies are flowing into every available port and valuable resources are taken back to the Reich.
Labrador peninsula is cut off from rest of Allied forces, panzers are holding the line till more units (infantry mainly) arrive in trains as most of railroad there is controlled already by Germans.
Another nuke technology breakthrough - will be 3rd nuke ready before fall of USA?
Charge towards Labrador is starting.
V2s are raining on uncaptured Allied cities and one more escape route for Yanks is sealed and panzers of major general Georg Keppler, which captured ruins of Washington D.C., are rushing towards reunion with paratroopers.
Main pocket is nearly closed but first supply problems are starting to appear. Otherwise, Heer is on steroids and is stomping through America.
Reinforcements from Europe have arrived to New Orleans and some pre-built ports have been deployed in adjacent area as bigger supply throughput is needed to supply armies there.
US airforce is sending their heavy bombers into the fray, apparently they are only planes with some organization left.
Nearly month from start of Operation Ragnarök pockets in the north are closed and progress there is more than satisfying. In the south however the progress is slower due to prolonged assault of Miami but von Manstein's panzers gathered speed and are rolling through America.
Quick look on chain of command of Oberkomando Nordamerika, so far I am managing to keep units in range of their HQ. Logistic wizards are in charge of Theatre and Army group level HQs as every bit of supply reduction helps.
In the north resistance has been broken in the main pocket and infantry and light tanks are pushing to completely destroy it with defenders in it. Some US divisions have been already shattered.
In the south panzers finally started rolling at high speed and another encirclement is expected.
Overall situation one month from the beginning of the operations.
Bombing effort has been initiated in Labrador peninsula and massive investment in terms of leadership and IC spent on upgrades of medium bombers has paid of as you can see - 972 dead in one bombing run (so far the biggest number I've seen in my game).
Encirclement in south have been accomplished - 36 militia brigades and 4 regular infantry ones have been trapped and then overrun.
Apart from Labrador every attempt to resist have been eliminated and campaign on Labrador can take whatever time it needs as this does not block any advance into USA and Canada mainland.
Wehrmacht has apparent technological advantage in weaponry as you can see at this battle report - causality ratio is pretty satisfying.
Detroit has been captured and group of light fighters has been rebased there - it was intercepted by disorganized group of US airforce interceptors. To be honest Luftwaffe is starting to be also a bit disorganized due to constant rebasing as Heer is truly on steroids and is stomping its way through America - next stop west coast!
AAR is now at sync with the game so you can now think and vote where to drop 2nd nuke!
