who is the worst ally

my nomination is burgundy.

as france i was sitting peacefully eating onions and snails after gloating over unifying most of france and then i joined burgundy in an alliance.

I noticed that they had a fantasy monarch so i guess i missed out inhertiing them so it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Now every 10 seconds the bastards start another war

ah well wining them at least

out of interest, if an ally starts a war is it considered aggresive or defensive for BB?

Or Orleans in 1419. Though having them in your alliance makes it easy to free up another slot for someone you _really_ want.

it can be anyone just as long as they do nothing during the whole war but sit on their ass. That is a totally useless ally. But if a ally takes you to work every war that can really be a good thing for you. It gives you a better chance at expanding your power.

Aragon. They drag me into knock-down fights with the French every decade like clockwork, and do the Frenchies ever bother attacking ARAGON!? Nooo, they *always* land their little armies in Cantabria and Asturias while I'm trying to extort maps from Portugal! GAH!

Just had Ethiopia Invite me to join their might alliance. They have no access to water and Share their only border with me. I am the only nation they have contact with.

Denmark in the early game, in all my games they attack everybody right off the bat and then everyone attacks them. Relations get down to -200 quick. If I'm big enough that is no big deal, saves a NoCB DOW.

One of the most irritating games I ever had was when allied to France and Burgundy. The aggressive bastards will attack anything that moves! I ended the pain with France by finally diplo-annexing them after 30 years, then I double-crossed Burgundy (who were busy beating up anyone they could find in east of France) and force-vassalized them.

Generally, the aggressive ones make up for aggravative allies.
