Agreed, during WW2, it very uncommon NOT to be racist. So it is just stupid to think badly of someone at the time becouse he was racist, they all were. USA even had legal racism until 1960s.

Oh don't worry, I'm not judging Monty for things like racism and/or homophobia, but for the qualities that I mentioned in my post.

Definitely Patton with his pearl handled side arm, over MacArthur. Maybe they are saving his image for Operation Unthinkable DLC.

I'd have Manstein or Guderian over Rommel; but realise Rommel is possibly more recognisable.

Well they need to keep a few famous commanders back so they can lead the dlcs

Maybe MacArthur is there because he's probably equally recognizable to a Japanese audience? He did a lot (was basically Shogun MacArthur for a while, to paraphrase one of my professors) in Japan post-war.
