Unfortunately, women are often hard to locate in historical sources, and for many medieval dynasties, it's mostly male family members that are known to us. This was very much the case with the Andalusian culture.
In those cases, we sometimes invent female characters, in order to pad out the family trees and make them feel more real.
al-Araka is such a character. I imagine she was a Saqaliba (Slavic) concubine of emir Adanis, before she died in childbirth. The name al-Arāka is a slave name preserved in Andalusian sources, that refers to a kind of tree.
