Since there has been so much anger regarding the Sunset Invasion DLC, I just thought I'd say that I'm really looking forward to it, and I think it will certainly provide many, many hourse of fun as stable Western Europe has a sharp shock to the sytem...

I don't think I will use it all the time, but I shall certainly play with it... Hopefully it will give my Byzantines a breathing space so we can yet again try and know France down a peg or two... :D

So if you are like me, and actually looking forward to this DLC please say so here. The Devs are probably thinking we are all against Fantasy DLCs, and we can't let those who get really angry put off Paradox for investing in Fantasy DLCs.

So anyone else looking forward to Sunset Invasion?

Me!

I think it's great that a sort of 'mini-DLC' has been made that offers a completely new, if fantastical, challenge for players to face. It's nice for those who can fairly easily get to a point in a game where they are pretty sure their lands and dynasty are safe, it's something to keep people on their toes, should they so choose.

For a while I couldn't decide if it was a terrible or excellent idea. Then I drank some whiskey and realized this is the best thing Paradox has ever done.

Btw does anyone know if it's possible to use the DLC for a game that was stated without it? My first real game as Munster->Ireland is about 200 years in and I've completed just about every goal I've had, so I'm considering just starting a new one. Being able to trigger the Mesoamerican Menace in the near future would be just the thing to make me want to take this run all the way or at least a couple decades further.

This looks like the only even halfway positive thread about the DLC, so I imagine the devs are going to read this just to make themselves feel better. :)

This is so ridiculous I am buying it on day 1 XD
I can already see it:

*after Aztecs have colonized western Europe and destroyed the HRE*
Emperor of Croatia suddenly rises from his throne in middle of a feast and yells: "To arms men! WE are going west! We have a Christianity to save!"
And an epic battle between Eagle-clothed humans and half-naked men painted in red-white squares ensues.

Seriously tough, Liberating west will be fun.

It's $5. I have spent a good deal more on things I found a good deal less entertaining than medieval Europe trading its land to Aztecs for beads. Anyone who does not see how brilliant this is has no sense of humor. I am seriously debating having this DLC on in every game I play.

As the Emperor of a restored Rome I would be willing to entertain any and all offers for some of my western land, and I do mean ANY AND ALL offers...beads you say? what color exactly?

Honestly I'd like this if it was almost anything other than the Aztecs. It's just too hard for me to suspend disbelief on this one, and there are so many cooler ways they could have made an invasion DLC. Atlantis arising to reconquer the world, Alien invasion, sinkhole gate to hell unleashing an unholy army of demons, even a powerful magocracy coming across the Pacific instead of Aztecs. It would be easier to suspend disbelief for me for genuine fantasy elements, instead of ahistorical elements.

Suspension of disbelief doesn't matter here.
IRONY matters... and there is nothing more ironical than Indians colonizing Europe :p

I'm certainly looking forward to it. Probably begin with a (Karling) Vermandois - France game, by the time the Aztecs land I should have formed Francia and be in shape to fight them off.

The totally plausible and incredibly kickass Kingdom of Finland has your back, fellow monarch!
