Since I do not believe that factionalization is within the scope of the game, though it would be nice if I was incorrect, my answers will change if that comes to fruition.

I will accept contracts from the following factions: Marik, ComStar, Liao, Davion (only because Victor does not exist yet), Taurian Concordat, No Faction, and Magistracy of Canopus. I will also very happily accept contracts that allow me to commit maximum possible harm against Lyran or Aurigian (Directorate or Restoration) forces/interests.

I will not accept contracts from any Aurigian faction, or any contract that attempts to pit me against the FWL.
I honour your convictions.....I will play it through to it's storyline as intended for the first playthrough but am looking forward to trying different angles on subsequent campaigns.

The second an Aurigian faction becomes canon, I will support their existence. Until that point, it is my job to be the bleach in the Aurigian gene pool.

As I said, since it is still not (to my knowledge) fully canon yet, it is my job to kill them all. Even if it does become canon, I am just going to be real here, I will still not recognize their existence since it is not in any of the books I own. Best case scenario, anything Aurigian becomes as real to my head canon as Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer are to our universe.

:) always get the money upfront and keep the dropship engines warm :p

How much extra maintenance do you have to pay to keep the drop ship hot? HBS should include a checkbox for keeping the drop ship ready to go for a small fee. Of course, nothing bad ever happens if you do not check the box. The game could keep a running tally of all fees collected from all players and post it somewhere.

Didn't you get the new Stackpole novel as part of your Backerkit reward?

Fair point, but “owning” and “having read” are two different things. I have so many books in front of it, and with how voracious a reader I am, I am waiting until the fourth book is available to even consider starting it.

I do not have high hopes though. Given how well the last retcon went, I am not expecting a lot when it comes to the Aurigians getting added.

In success... Hopefully about the same time they put in that button, they also put in a mission for escaping a world where your employer has gone belly up ;)

Fighting a rearguard all the way to the dropship! Now that would be intense ;)

And having to defend the dropship while the engines spinn up if you haven't been paying the maintenance to keep them hot lol. That would be a rocking cluster of a target rich environment. Also I believe there are many presidents in various battletech fiction of mercinarys having to fight their way off planet after a contract goes bad.

There's an edit button at the bottom of your posts, and if you catch it fast enough, it won't even show that the post was edited, so no one will ever know!

...Not that I've made use of that feature to correct my own errors a bunch of times or anything. Definitely not.

House Liao is of course the most desireable choice of employer. I would also consider accepting other employers as long as they do not run counter to Capellan interests.
