If possible, I would love to play an egyptian tribe to restore true pharaonic rule in the Nile valley (and kick the macedonians out in the process)
Always one of my favorites to play in EU:Rome, I imagine they'll be even more interesting now with more than one province to start with. It was always a problem being a OPM bordering Rome and Carthage on day 1 - I usually had to ally one of them, then expand into Cyrenaica where neither of them would want what I had conquered. Maybe there's a chance to make a bigger difference in the Punic Wars and get more territory out of them now.![]()

I would like this too! I think it might be possible by playing as Kush and reforming Egypt (if forming/reforming nations is a feature, which I imagine it would be), since Kush should start with Kemetic as their state religion. Either that or perhaps there will be a mechanic for Egypt to go syncretic with the native religion like it did historically, or even fully re-embrace Kemetism.
Uhhh that religion is a 20th-century reconstruction.
I am aware of that, but in a fairly recent screenshot of the religious mapmode it shows the religion to be named as Kemetic (see below). I am only using that word as that is what it is called in-game, for simplicity reasons. But there is no need to be pedantic, if you do not like it then you should make a forum post/contact the devs and inform them of a more appropriate name for the religion!

Yeah that should probably be changed then. It's not like 'Arabic' or other terms created after the fact because it specifically refers to a revivalist religion created in the United States. It's just...odd. Use Egyptian. That's what everyone knows it as and what it's called in scholarly works as far as I know.
But Egyptian would likely overlap with the culture. They should use a name which is not used as culture. How would you call the culture in Egypt if you already have an Egyptian religion?
I'd probably split it into two. The lower kingdom was a bit different to the Upper kingdom. You would find more Greek influences in the lower kingdom and more Nubians in the Upper. Obviously ethnicity isn't culture. But there was a revolt in the upper kingdom not too long after the game start where they separated and kind of became it's own country for a little while. I don't know enough to make this a fleshed out argument but I reckon one could be made for a non homogeneous Egyptian culture. But Egyptian would likely overlap with the culture. Why is that a problem? It isn't for anyone else. I also don't see how it's any different from Hellenic.
There is no Hellenic culture ingame as far as we have seen from Screenshots, we saw Athenian and Peleponesse etc. So there would not be 'Hellenic Hellenic Slaves'. And 'Egyptian Egyptian slaves' would be ugly. As far as we know there is no religion with a cultural term.
To be fair, the term comes from kmt, an ancient Egyptian word for Egypt, with vowels inserted based on the (self-admittedly flawed) standard of 'e' in every "slot." It's basically like saying "Egyptian" with a different word. Both are ultimately based on ancient Egyptian roots and the Egyptians themselves would most likely recognize neither. As a means of differentiating the culture from the religion I don't see it as a problem, and I imagine it's moddable without changing the checksum. So the solution is to use a term for a revivalist religion that doesn't actually represent the ancient Egyptian religion and was created in the 1970s? C'mon.
