I don't know where to start so well gonna play it easy and pick Rome at the start just to get a hang of the game but maybe then move onto Persia or one the many tribes in Europe.

I really hope the Seleucids have mechanics to integrate the local Persian culture and administration like they did historically. How that would work I do not know, maybe more powerful vassals in the form of Satrapies?
So many different groups. Wusun, Yuezhi, Tocharians, Scythians, definitely a lot of eastern starts. I also want to do a Baltic start as Aesti, and maybe some kind of Gothic group. I want to play way too many groups.
Will the Seleucids have cultural conversion/settling mechanics or another system to represent klerouchoi/katoikoi?
Rome, as soon as the two Consul DLC is released and I buy the game. After I get the hang of the game's mechanics and what's overpowered or gamey, I'll make several pages of historically-driven house rules, conquer up to the Empire's historical borders and not beyond, and try to keep the Empire pagan at any cost.
After that, I hope they'll represent Roman client states faithfully as such in the later start dates so that I can play them separately, too. Taking part in Roman wars, paying my monthly tribute, plotting, scheming.

I'd like to play as a Diadochi, particularly in Bactria, Sogdiana, Gedrosia, Aria, and Ptolemaic Egypt.

Not sure if this is still done, but I enjoyed when Paradox supplied some opening vignettes of a few select nations, which would provide direction and color to a new player. I'd consider myself a relative novice again, considering all the changes that are going into this product (which is a good thing!).
Eumenes would be nice, but I gather he's dead by the start date, so it will be Seleucus I Nicator.
