I think for the first game to learn things and get a handle of how things are done I'll play Rome. However I absolutely love the Diadochi so that will be my next game or my "true" first game. I love playing as Macedonia in games and that would be my main pick but I don't like how it is controlled by Cassander, Personally I like the Antigonids because they are so awesome and cool. It'd be a lot of fun to play as them fighting all the Diadochi at once and it'd be hard. I wonder how they will split up the empire when Antigonus dies and how they took over Macedonia from Cassander, that'd be kinda hard to do I think.

My next game when I've learned everything I need I think I'll play Epirus, Pyrrhus of Epirus is an absolute boss and it'll be fun to make my own Empire in Italy and all over.

List of interested countries:
-Rome
-Macedonia
-Phrygia
-Epirus
-Ptolemies
-Seleucids
-Thrace
-Some German Tribe

Personal games/challenges in order...

1. Start as Semnonia and conquer the region the Alemanni historically settled. Then form a united Suevian Empire that will stand as a bulwark against the barbaric and primitive Romans. (Fun fact Germany was almost called Swabia if the Romans hadn't won a critical war against them, so having fun with that tidbit of history)
2. The thalassocracy of Knossos shall dominate the Mediterranean and keep the upstart Romans, Carthaginians, and Diadochis in their place. (greatest power in Mediterranean)
3. Syracusae will claim the two Sicilies along with the home provinces of Rome and Carthage.
4. Unite the British isles as both Ulutia and Caledonia.
5. Be independent for 100 years as Rhodes and the greatest Greek state.
6. Obligatory run as Sparta and defeat the Persian regional power in a war. (whoever that is)
7. Play as Trinoventia and have Camelot be the most prestigious and populated city in the world.
8. Form a trade hegemony as Aksum, controlling all trade through the Red Sea and owning some Indian trade outposts.
9. Play as Parthia and conquer their historic borders.
10. Play as Byzantion and conquer Rome.
11. Conquer Italy as Etruria and Boii.
12. Salt the fields of Rome as Carthage.
13. One of the minors in India (haven't decided) and surpass the Mauryans.
14. Conquer the borders of Alexander the Great's empire as Macedonia. (Probably will get bored with this one since large empires can be dull/hopefully this is changed)

Will likely find more as time goes on and especially once the game is released. Honestly I will probably never play Rome cause that is just boring/too easy. Unless the start is incredibly challenging against Carthage and then I may salt Carthago and call it there. It is a lot more fun to play alternate history games as underdogs that give you a challenge. Whenever I become one of the top three greatest powers in any paradox game is when I usually turn it off.

I want to play as Rome but I have in mind that bigger nations will be easier to play so first round I guess will be Antigonos or mabye Egypt.
Im not sure if they are easier than Rome. First of you start near other Powers of your size while Rome starts near weaker Powers. Secondly Rome with just most of Italy United was probably historically more Powerful than any of the diadochi kingdoms but that may not be the case in the game.

Phrygia although i find that name more than awkward since the successor realms were realms that were defined by their ruling dynasty (like many of the eastern realm in CK 2) and not by the regions they hold (Egypt beeing the exception after the Ptolemeans lost their oversee provinces). I hope that my Antigonids are able to become Macedonia at some point and don't have to stuck with the a-historical Phrygia-tag forever.

Why the Antigonids? Because the first 3 of them are just Characters for novels. Antigonos Monopthalmos (the One-Eyed) dying a warriors death in battle with over 80 years! Demetrios Poliorketes (the besieger) who at a time lost almost anything but ruled from a young age a sea empire essentially controlling only a few but deciding harbors but having a fleet no one wanted to mess with. He even defeated Ptolemaios (he beeing 30 years against the veteran of 60 years and countless battles). Finally Antigonus Gonatas who had to consolidate a kingdom from the ashes because his father and grandfather were quite successful but in their recklessness lost almost anything.

Tag switching have been confirmed so I suspect you can become Macedonia if Macedonia no longer exist and you Control certain cities or provinces and having Macedonian Culture or atleast being in the greek Culture Group.
