Hi,

I just played a rather satisfying game as Germany, decisively crushing Syndicalism and setting German monarchs all over Europe. Even managed to defeat the Combined Syndicates of America and restore the USA with a couple of loads as other countries and some acceptalling. I enjoyed figuring out the borders I had caused on Google Maps and checking all the people ahistorically in power on Wikipedia, but soon realised the game didn't contain enough information for me to recognise most of them. Could someone from the dev team or a better educated fan help me out a bit? So far I've identified:

S.K.H. Charles III auf Saxe-Coburg Gotha - King of England
S.K.H. Rupprecht I - King of Wales
Nikolaus I von Oldenburg - Kign of Scotland? (not sure)
S.H. Adolf Friedrich I - Duke of the United Baltic Duchy
Fredrik Karl I - King of Finland
S.K.H. Adalbert von Preussen - King of Flandern-Wallonien

What about the others? There's still the guy's for the French puppet states, Lithuania, and White Ruthenai, as well as Scotland who I probably got wrong. :)

Nikolaus I von Oldenburg as Kign of Scotland is correct.
French puppet state: George of Hanover as François III is probably this guy.
Lithuania: King Mindaugas III von Urach is the son of Mindaugas II.
White Ruthenia: Vladimir, King of White Ruthenia.

And don't forget that for a brief period Prince Joachim was King of Ireland!

Oh yeah, what about the guys of the other French puppet states Brittany, Normany, and Occitania? Also, are there any potential German puppets implemented that I'm unaware of? Alsoalso, is it plausible for several Grand Dukes and even the King of Bavaria to get reassigned like this? I was expecting members of the Imperial family and such, but no already reigning monarchs.

Occitania at least is ruled by Louis Grimaldi, the Prince of Monaco. Not sure about Brittany or Occitania. Spain has a possible German king too, but again, I'm not sure who he is.

The policy of appointing Dukes (or the second sons of them) was the policy the Germans took in real life during WW1. The Urachs where set up to become kings of Lithuania mostly because they where catholic, but not Wittelsbachs or Württembergs (no need for them to get influential).
Also, the first king of White Ruthenia was Wilhelms brother Heinrich, while Wilhelms sons Adalbert and Joachim becoming kings of Flanders-Wallonia and Ireland. This leaves future puppet Baltic Duchy and independent Finland for the others. The other sons of Wilhelm, Eitel and Oskar, would probably be needed to support the monarchy in Germany.

About Rupprecht: remember that the man is the Jacobite claimant to the British throne (even if he never pushed for it himself). I guess he could become king of Wales in addition to being king of Bavaria for this reason. Making Rupprecht king of Britain would make him too powerful, but not splitting Wales and Scotland from Britain would make Charles too powerful. A bit of divide and rule...

Would be interesting to know about the ones in Normandy and Brittany.
Extra info on the Habsnurgs would be interesting too I guess even though at the moment they're fewer in number of ahistorical positions.

Did some research on the German monarchs in the game. Here is a list of current and possible monarchs of German:

Current:
Germany: Emperor Wilhelm II von Preussen.
United Baltic Duchy: Grand Duke Adolf Friedrich I von Mecklemburg.
White Ruthenia: King Vladimir I (Waldemar von Preussen. Son of Genrikh I, (Heinrich von Preussen), Wilhelm IIs brother).
Finland: King Fredrik Kaarle I (Friedrich Karl von Hessen).
Flanders-Wallonia: King Adalbert von Preussen (son Wilhelm II).
Lithuania: King Mindaugas III (Karl Gero von Urach, son Mindaugas II (Wilhelm von Urach)).

Potential monarchs:
France: Francois III (Franz von Hohenzollern. Member of the Catholic Hohenzollern branch).
Spain: Frederick I (Frederick von Hohenzollern. Brother of Franz).
Brittany: Louis, Prinz von Hessen und zu Rhein.
Normandy: Franz Maria von Bayern (brother King Rupprecht von Bayern)
England: Charles III auf Saxe Coburg und Gotha or Louis Ferdinand von Preussen (son Wilhelm III)
Wales: Rupprecht I (king of Bavaria too)
Scotland: Nikolaus von Oldenburg
Poland: Friedrich Christian Wettin

And here's a summary of the Habsburgs:

Otto von Habsburg (king and emperor)

Archdukes
Archduke Friedrich von Habsburg-Teschen
Archduke Eugen von Habsburg Techen

Hos:
Governor of Galicia-Lodomeria: Karol Olbracht von Habsburg-Lothringen (Karl Albrecht)
King of Ukraine Vasily I Vyshyvanyi (Wilhelm Franz von Habsburg-Lothringen)

Possible HoS
Jozef von Österreich-Toscane, Duke of Tuscany (potential king of the Italian Federation)
Gottfried von Österreic-Toscane (son of Jozef).

The Grand Dukes are easy to explain - in aristocratic terms, going from a Grand Duke to a King is a promotion (even if the Kingdom is smaller and less powerful than the Grand Duchy!). The King of Bavaria... well, see FlyingDutchie's explanation (although, to be honest, I find the explanation for why he can't be kind of a united Britain somewhat lacking, considering Franz von Hohenzollern can be king of a France that isn't partitioned).

Well, whatr about giving just wales to england? the tiny one province nation has not future alone. i always give it back to england via an event i made. making england a bit stronger (for a navy wich i can use to fight asia) and get rid of a nation with bad industry wich have to help.

like what lordinsane said about it.

Can't believe nobody mentioned Sigismund I of Weissruthenien, Genrikh I's more competent son.

@ erica: I thought Karol Olbracht was the Habsburg candidate, not his dad. Will check it out.

@ c0d5579: Sigismund can indeed become king in a rather dubious manner.

I think that the king's name may be better in "local language". For example:

Spain: Frederick I → Federico I
Poland: Friedrich Christian → Fryderyk Krystian
Wales: Rupprecht I → Robert I

One thing to remember, the King of Romania (Mihai I) is from the Hohenzollern-Siegmaringen line of the royal family of Germany, so his appointment could also be considered as a German family appointment.

What's the problem with having multiple titles? It was common practice.
