Who are the 8 Great Powers?

I wonder who all 8 Great Powers are at the beginning of the Grand Campaign. I expect that Britain, France, Russia, Austria, and Prussia are in, but who are the other 3?

Ibn I´d put France ahead of Russia, and the Yanquis ought to be in there instead of Belgium or Spain.

Aye, but there are 11 choices in the screenshot.

So it would be convincing to say:
Austria
Prussia
Russia
Great Britain
France
Ottoman Empire
Sardinia-Piedmonte

the remaining four would be up for debate but the start screen always seems to give the most popular options rather than necessarily the most powerful countries IIRC from EUII. In terms of "great power" it's possible that Spain should be top 8 also but as previously stated probably not for long after 1835.

Swedan was closer to being a world power at that time than the USA.
Mexico is a bit iffy but i'm sure thats why we had a Mexican AAR to get more people interested in playing them or maybe because they are a popular choice that can be built up easier...
Who knows and who really cares who the starters are when all you have to do is right click and change the country anyway.

Oh I don't know. Denmark for instance was much more central in that period, and industrualized faster than Sweden. Wouldn't you say Netherlands was a bigger power as well?

Oh well, EU2 had several minors, but they were usually there because they were placed in interesting situations. Sweden historically just..well...sat there doing nothing, not very interesting IMO.
