BTW, after your WW2, will there be a WW3? :)
Yes it'll be probably situated around 1942-44 so it'll have the middle/end real world WW2 technological level which means it'll be actually a real race for the first nukes and other advanced techs.

i saw last version of the map where is dissapeared USSR?
USSR is no longer here since the Bolshevik revolution was a total failure in this reality and the civil war couldn't have lasted to 1930, tough many communist are still in Russia ready to act with foreign support so they'll be playable latter.

This Tech-tree is probably the most representative of changes I though the game needed, overall developments still goes on and it's done when it's done, of course.

industech.jpg

The Industrial tech tree : Some aspects are inspired by Mod34 and CORE. It now represents countries development status and it's limitations, this means no longer Tibet will be able to research production planning techniques if they're not industrialized. The tech-tree also covers social aspects such as propaganda, population census, medicine etc... Which where quite important during war times.

It is also useful to reduce the number of "developement" events that most mods have, as the player/AI can do quite detailed reforms/industrialization through the tech-tree and the game engine. Some buildings costs, production and effects have been divided by two to make them easier to manage and to have quicker effects. For example now if you build IC it will costs you 2.5 IC, you'll get 0.5 IC, it'll build faster and more important it'll be fairly more manageable for a countries that have 5 IC.

Back to the tech-tree. Perhaps some may argue that the number of techs is probably too much to research for one country but it's actually designed for, it's up to the player to put some priorities and to not waste time and tech-slots on unnecessary applications.

I also took some time to rewamp Ideology matrix : It now much more easier to be authoritarian, but if you want to go totalitarian, be it right winged or left winged, it will requires extreme sliders positions but will be also more rewarding/secure if you come across some random events.

Thanks for you comments :)

Loks very good! Will you remake the mod for HoI3?
Probably, but not immediately after the game release, probably a year after (I'll wait the initial reaction, patches and the cold war expansion :D). After the mod release I'll focus on polishing it and of course playing it (a bit of distraction during the preparation of my uni exams...). I think that people will still be able to enjoy it despite the HOI3 hype/expectation.

However I have to admit, since the HOI3 announcement I've made several design changes, as dev diaries where published to make a probable future conversion easier, all ideas are in they just need to be translated in a game.

Quite some bad news...

Well... We're in the beginning of July HOI3 is going to come in 1-2 months this means I wouldn't be able to deliver the mod in time, too much distractions, real time issues and a very ambitious project are the main responsible, I will finish it anyway before thinking about a port in HOI3, I'm not even sure I'll port because I don't expect much from this game...

The question is... Are some people still interested to still play HOI2 with something new and different besides the HOI3 monster presence or should I spare myself the time to share it because none cares ?

I'd eventually be interested into playing it. Maybe you should just release what yu have as a beta before HoI3 is out, so at least it have a kind of pre-HoI3 existence? It looked like quite advanced from what you were telling. Its not important if its not yet complete, only playability matter. And if you are to wait for HoI3 and forget about it, at least release what you did so somebody might be interested into helpin building it later.

Thanks for your replies. I guess it's worth the sharing... especially if it happens that HOI3 doesn't portray all what HOI2 could do.

My main concerns with the future HOI3 porting are :
- The first comes that it seems that now, little countries will be complete rubbish that are not playable any more like some little nations in Victoria, not that all are really playable in W&R but with proper allies and opportunism you can manage to get bigger, like Thailand, Mongolia or White Germany.
- The second of my concern is that the tech-tree looks too much straight forward and doesn't include any choice which disable others choices like you had for doctrines in vanilla HOI2, W&R make a load of uses of this.
- The last if not the worst seems that date driven events are removed, W&R has quite some, coup d'etat attempts begin the most important. It's already quite dynamic, probably I would be able to make even better but... I fear that flavour events like natural disasters will have to die, which isn't always pleasing since they have quite an important impact.
