Most of us know that there are bugs in the event files of 1.1. Of variable severity. Also some are such that can be argued whether or not they are bugs. While most of them hopefully get fixed in 1.2, it might be still time to wait for that and while part of the community does have the skill to tweak event files, other parts don't. So to help our fellow gamer, I'd like to announce "event bugfix project", in interest to have bugless and better event files while we wait for 1.2.

The idea would be to first line out what should be modified in the thread and then have the modified event files gathered here in the first post as a nice zip file for handy download.

Current version: No version yet

Fixes: None yet

Unfortunately some of the buggy events depend on other things being changed too. The worst offender in my opinion is the USSR moving industry (2633, 2634 and 2635) events that subtract IC from provinces that don't have the IC to be subtracted and thus the events "magically" give Russia free ICs. To fix it you must mod the Province.csv file too.

To get this started, some (possibly arguable) bugs I have noted:

Germany.txt:
A) Puppeting of Croatia, event 2033, should be firing for Germany, not Croatia

B) Eastern Poland to Soviets, event 2018, only checks for one of the Bitter Peace events. While usually this event fires in 1939, in some cases it might not and you might end up giving Eastern Poland to Soviets after getting Bitter Peace. Would be fixed by making it check also for the other Bitter Peace event

Ussr.txt:
A) Winter War, event 2620, checks only whether or not Poland exists. If Germany happens to release Poland as a puppet, there will be no Winter War. Would be fixed by making triggers check that either Poland does not exist or Poland is a puppet of Germany.

Hoi2.txt:
A) Impossible to get UK surrender if USA is at war, while impossible to get USA surrender if UK is at war. This means that if USA joins the war before UK surrenders, you have to annex one of the two, before you can get other to surrender. I think that making USA surrender event check that either UK is not at war with Germany or London (possibly some other key points too?) is under german control, while making UK surrender event check that either USA is not at war with Germany or Washington (others?) is under german control.

B) USA surrenders to Japan event, same kind of problem as in the previous event, because triggering requires UK to not be at war with Japan. Changing triggering to check that either UK is not at war with Japan or London (others?) is under german or japanese control would be better way.

C) Danish surrender event, event 93, again checks that Poland does not exist. Should instead check that either Poland does not exist or Poland is german puppet.

It could also be made to target provinces which do have the IC to be subtracted, so that end totals stay the same.

Also I think that ICs are in scenario files, not province.csv. :)

Ussr.txt:

A) Winter War (event 2620) should check that Bitter Peace has not occured.

B) Claim Bessarabia (event 2606) should check that Bitter Peace has not occured.

EDIT: I'll get around to make this into first release today evening. :)

Thanks for introducing me to this interesting thread! ;)
Yes, I fixed the event problems that I was aware of, I didn't know of the other problems yet. Particularly the problems with the Oil Embargo and the Moving of Industries seem important enough to fix, but we shouldn't do the same work twice. Hopefully it will only be necessary until 1.2 comes out anyway.
