Humans.
I never play as humans (with some exceptions of course) because I'm one myself and I find that kind of boring.
I want to have them in my playthroughs though.

This put me a bit at ease. Cordiceps freak me out and I am glad mammals are not affected.
The only one I will play multiple times with are the Humans. I don't really have a huge beef with any of the xenos, but I will likely only play with each once. I'll probably play with the Fungoids the least.

I guess I will play the Blorg least, or not at all, and wouldn´t like to find them in the galaxy. They, for me, are these "cute" things from the streaming, and finding them as, I don´t know, a Pacifist Spiritualist Divine Mandate, or a Xenophobic Military Dictatorship, would ruin them for me XD
Until you encounter their materialist capitalist greedy corpocracy and see them die like complete idiots from their own irresponsibility.
The Blorg. I wouldn't be able to play as them without trying to role play the stream style.

Will probably avoid Mammals/Avian. These feel like the more booring ones / what you get if you morph humand with some random animal on earth.

First run will be with humans, building the Terran Empire still give me much satisfaction. Then will try some arthropoid I guess. Don't like very much avians and mammalians in general. Must say that the majority of the race portraits seems ugly to me.

I'm a little leary of the ones that look like an animal head on a (probably?) humanoid body, but I'm not fanatic about the position. I like either humans, or things that look -really- alien.
I'm also surprised that there are few to no "human variation aliens" that are normally a staple of every sci fi I can think of off hand. One might argue that it's unlikely that blue humans would be found on other worlds, but then, we do have fallen empires that could have done all kinds of shenanigans in the past.
I'll probably play humans the first time around. Even though I am a human, I've never been a human making first contact with hug-loving space-faring fungi, so that could be an interesting twist on being human.

In my time, I expect I will play all of them. However, I expect I will play Humans the least in the long run, spiders, insects and lizards the most.
Normally I would say humans, though with the federation mechanic a starfleet roleplay is tempting.
