Which so called "lesser" Nations do you want to play as most?

Turkey - either ally with the Axis and go for the Caucasus, Levant and Iraqor or go for the Allies and aim for a supposedly Axis controlled Greece and Balkans

Sweden - my homelands behaviour during the war is very much discussed so it´ll be interesting to see what happens if Sweden commits either to the Axis (in support of Finland) or the Allies.

China - either the Nationalists or Communists would be interesting to play.

Spain - especially if you can play a Spain that is not under Francos control.

Luxumbourg: Try to remain neutral all the time. And see the world around me go up in flames

Spain: Allie with the Axis and take back Gibraltar.

Was Mongolia a nation at this time? It might be fun to steal some land from the two otherwise-engaged behemoths surronding me.

Australia would be far more fun than NZ; as NZ your economic capacity will be almost nil.

Brazil would be fun; perhaps you could unite S.A. and oppose the north Americans..

I think so.. But I know the Russians had soldiers in Outer Mongolia. I think they only had soldiers there, though, and Mongolia was its own country.. But, not sure. If it was, they'll be fun..

If you're asking if Mongolia was, in a strictly legal sense, an independent country, then the answer is 'yes'. However, this independence was entirely a legal fiction. The country was totally (and ruthlessly) dominated by Moscow appointees, and had virtually no independent decision-making ability free from the USSR. One of the great untold tragedies of the 20th Century, actually.

On a non-nationalist basis, playing Finland could be very interesting. Fight off the Soviets, but try not to get sucked completely into the Axis...

Assuming you can ... although there's been a lot of talk about the self-governing Commonwealth dominions on this board, I don't believe that Paradox have yet explicitly stated whether they'll be playable nations or not. This is not a shoe-in - there's a case to be made for either side (although my hunch is that they'll ultimately go with the 'independent' option).

Probably because Vilnius ('Vilna'), now Lithuania's major city, was part of Poland at the time.
