A part from the obvious 'grand campaign' scenario - which I think they should call 'The Road to Victory':D - which other starting years would you like to see in Victoria?

Personally, I would like to see the following starting years:

1861 (Italian Unification, American Civil War)
1870 or 1871 (Franco-Prussian War/German Unification)
1914 (Great War, a true must)

And other scenarios of which I can't remember the exact date:
Crimean War, Boer Wars, Japanese-Russian War

My guess would be these scenarios (in addition to 1835):

1860 - The US Civil War (a must for the US market) & the Start of German/Italian Unification
1888 - The Coronation of Wilhelm II & the Race for Africa
1914 - The First World War

EDIT: Changed 1865 to 1835. ;)

Why 1865? And do you really think the Coronation of Wilhelm II is more important than Franco-Prussian War/German Unification?

I'd like to see 5.

1835- Well, it's the beginning so...

1841- Seven weeks war, the real beginning of Prussia's mass expansion (plus the first serious use of breechloading rifles)

1861- The civil war

Whenever the most important event between 1880-1900 was

1914- WWI

A ton of great possibilities ... but what events justify a campaign over another...?

1848 Time of Rebellions ...
1861 Civil War in NA, and German/Danish conflict, Italian Unification
1914 (starting in 1910 or 1912....) WWI; don't know how you would pace that campaign though.... it's worth it's own game, just like WWII IMO

1848 - braking point for Austria, first German Assembley, everything possible for Italy, France and Spain.

1865 - The Prussian war of hegomony

1877 - The second Russo - Turkish war, the aftermath will brake the three emperors league, and ultimatly set the stage for WWI

1910 - Enough time to prepare for WWI and give the Balkan minors enough time to change they own history.

1914 - The Great War

it depends how important the political focus of the game is. All the scenarios proposed were about wars. But if the political focus is rather more important a 1848 scenario will clearly be necessary.

Oops, my mistake - I meant 1835! *smacks hand against head*

In terms of 1888 as opposed to 1870, a scenario on German unification would have to start in 1864 (war with Denmark), & IMHO I think that have two scenarios four years apart would be too much duplication of effort, & since an 1860 scenario is a must (US market), 1864 would be out. 1888 gives a good lead-in to the First World War, while 1860 still works for the unification issues.
