"You think us evil? You misunderstand. We bear you no malice. We are simply the reason everything exists. All of the universe was made to be our home. You were never supposed to be - but it was not your doing. You did not cause yourself to exist. You did not set out to steal our stars. You could not help what you did any more than you could stop us from asserting our rightful claim. You were not even responsible for the crude drives that force you to spawn more of your kind, polluting the perfection of space with more beings that should not have existed. Those drives were accidents of evolution; mindless, soulless chemistry that did not know that what it did was wrong. Don't be afraid. We're going to free you from those cursed urges, and keep you from ever blaspheming again."

One question, if you gain unity from purging pops, I'm guessing that doesn't include using the 'cleanse planet' wargoal option?

To be honest, I don't understand what are you talking about. What are those fanatic purifiers? ANd what are these purge types? Am I missing something? Please explain me
Have you not read the dev diaries? There's tons of new features. Fanatic Purifier is one of the many new Civics, which are basically government traits. Purge types are part of the dev diary about species rights, along with Slavery Types, Living Standards and Citizen Statuses.

That remains to be seen. I asume taking planets and purging the hard way might be nessesary to get the biggest unity amount.
Both Armageddon Bombardment and Cleanse might not yield the same rewards, or even none.

Fanatic Purifier used to be a AI type, but with the new Civics model it is now possible to properly play as one even as human player.

The Patient Purger cleanses the galaxy.
That is a lesson to be learned from the Necrons from Warhammer 40k.

I'm looking at some serious Heresy

The true purger suffers not the xeno to live. Achieve dominance through cleansing the galaxy and recolonising the empty husks of xeno filth

(Human, adaptive/rapid breeder/repugnant, f xenophobe/militarist, empire, purifier. May even play with a 4 ethics points mod and put spiritualist in there for full rp)

As if the Imperium is anywhere close to dominance, more like a soon-to-be-corpse in its dying throes.
