Played by AI, with lucky nation on, which is according to you the final boss of Eu4?

-Post Renovatio Imperii Austria ,oh should I also precise it has also 4 PU
-Big Blue Blob France, with 6/6/6 generals and 135% moral and 120% discipline, and infinite manpower regeneration
-Tsardom of all the Russias (but also Lithuania, Persia and part of the Ming), in a defensive war in winter, with defensive ideas
-Poland-Lithuania Commonwealth which has stomped and annexed part of Ottoman Empire and Russia and has over 150% cavalry ability
-Kebab Empire with all the Balkans,Caucasus,, Crimea Anatolia, Egypt, Tunisia, Ethiopia, Syria, Iraq, part of Persia and 500 galleys

In Asia: Mewar owning 100% of India and culture converting lots of it
In Europe: Bohemia uniting HRE
In Africa: Tunis conquers into Mamluks and culture converts.

Unlike the megablobs above which you can blow up with enough forces, there's not a lot you can do to create monarch points out of thin air. I hope you have good luck skill. Since PLC takes aristocratic 7th, they have the most urgency to die on that list and would be the most hateful end-game opponent.

From this list it has to be PLC. In recent patch they are the only country that can blob real hard. France, Austria, Russia and even Ottoderps do it rarely nowadays.

But in Asia it's different story. I play as Orissa now, and even that I have great campaign, I'm bordering Ming now and it's really really scary. Because, you know, Ming have 4 times bigger army, they just rivaled me and they want my provinces.

Ming, but fortunatly they're an optional boss. Aside from them I'd say the ottomans, they are very big and scary. France is more of a personal nemesis than the true big bad. You will always be scrapping with france and while you (if you're slick) will usually pull of a win, you'll never win with as much as you think you would (Every time I go to war with france i swear, this is the time I break them and dismantle them properly, later I settle for two provinces and a humiliate)

In my England game there is this westernized and fully up to date in tech and ideas hindustan that has managed to control two-thirds of India and ally the two other blobs that hold the rest. Now if I want the Master of India achievment I'll have to fight hard for it, I suppose the 80 years left of game time should do it...

No AI will be difficult l late game, cause no AI use smart ideas. Simple as that.

If late game France came at me with exploration-quantity-quality-economic-religious-offensive I'd be like oh hell.

Depends on ho you were playing. If you were playign anyone who'd require them to actually ship troops to you and land them liek say Ming then you'd be laughing again.

Sweden with ultramarnes controlling all of Russia and most of the Baltic. Because +10 inf combat ability from the get go is not OP at all ;)

20% inf combat ability I think, and 5% discipline with the second NI. They also take Offensive ideas 2nd and Quality ideas 4th.

Still, I think a better end-game boss would be Revolutionary Holy Roman Empire, having been formed by Brandenburg.

And being reformed with the military fervor.
Does the HRE get a new flag when they get a revolution?

The hardest boss I have ever faced in eu4 was when Austria inherited burgundy early, dominated europe with alliances and raw power and quickly formed HRE. Fighting it was absolute hell and I was OTTOMANS. I was also not very experienced back then and it was my first game on 1.8 patch+AOW. Seriously this was horrifying, from day 1 to day 2 an empire with 500 000 top quality army appears and it declared war on me few weeks later.

The resulting war was the most epic thing ever to happen in my eu4 experience, as it was my Ottoman Empire (in roughly historical borders + some more land) allied with fully united France versus Iberia and the entire HRE + I had the revolution happening in the same time. Horrifying HRE hordes overtook most of my Balkans (I just retreated to Greece/Bosphorus until getting military from further regions), in the meantime revolution won and then I used reinforcements of revolutionary-army-flipped-on-my-side to gigantic counteroffensive. IIRC it ended with a white peace. It was awesome.

I am pretty sure this Great European War had at least 1 000 000 military casualties and at least 5 000 000 after adding hypotethical civilian pop, in the end half of continent was drained from manpower and cash.

(Russia/PLC/Scandinavia didn't intervene because they were devastated by their own giant war before)

Second best boss I have encountered was extreme Ottoman empire which stretched from Somalia to Latvia (!) (yes it has annexed the entire territory of usual PLC) and from Tunisia to Oman. For a short time it also had Vien, Venice and Moscow. To make it lose war and at least some territories there was needed a magnificent world war, when it has been opposed by alliance of Russia (300k army), France, Iberia, virtually the entire HRE, Persia, internal ottoman rebels and expeditionary force of my Japan AND it still took years and it just lose some lands, without collapsing.

Ha is that all I've seen th HRE united by italy with a personal union over france.

Yes we get it the reofrmed HRE is a beast but how often does it really form? 1/20 times at most I'd say. From my experience austria either fails to win the religious war (peace of westphalen never protestant victory unless I'm participating), or the empire drops below 25 princes (no small part because of austrias habit of expanding inside of the empire), both cases results in the IA being stuck at 0 for the rest of the game.
