Which nations are you going to play?

I'll probably try one of the Anglo-Norman dynasties first, perhaps Salisbury. Especially if they can actually become kings of England, as the second-most recent screenshot seems to imply.

After that, I think one of the families in the HRE. A game as the counts of Provence or Toulouse, trying to resist the increasingly powerful king would be interesting as well.

First I'm gonna play as the Count of Luxembourg and then I will try to take the same historical road as did Johann der Blinde (Jean l'Aveugle) and his son Karl IV (kings of Bohemia, emperor, ...)

I think maybe we should add to this thread which scenario we are going to play first as well as what 'nation' (dynasty). I'm aiming for GC of course, to have the most time to screw up history

its 1066 Norway has just become a nation, Harald 3 Haråde has just died at Stamford bridge, his two sons Magnus 2 and Olav 3 are now kings, its the begining of the great Norwegian era. I will try to colonize Greenland, iceland, parts of Ireland and Scotland.

Wait, I just remembered we can play vassals now God, that really opens the field up. I can think of scores of interesting possibilities - Toulouse springs to mind - but first I think I'll play Northumberland, lead the Geordies to their rightful destiny, mastery of the world... What's more, if the game's 1066 beginning is accurate, the North should still be substantially Anglo-Saxon, and one could coordinate La Resistance, bringing the Scots and Danes in together frx to sustain a 1069-style revolt. That would be cool. And England needs a King Uhtred.

Huh? AFAIK Damascus was lost to Byzantium in 635....
